Overview
Responsible for fault finding and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment (low pressure hot and cold water systems and associated equipment and natural gas systems and building management services).
Performs work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine. Undertaking maintenance repairs, minor improvements and capital work across the Trust as directed by management ensuring compliance with trust safety standards and procedures.
We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, IT-literate craftsperson with excellent Mechanical Plumbing and Engineering knowledge to join the estates team. The post holder will be responsible for fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment. The day-to-day duties will include planned preventative maintenance, general repairs, Energy Centre checks and responding to high-priority emergencies to ensure continuity of service in a vibrant busy hospital. * Grade: Grade E
Responsibilities
* Fault finding and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment (low pressure hot and cold water systems and associated equipment and natural gas systems and building management services).
* Perform activities which are complex and/or non-routine; undertake maintenance repairs, minor improvements and capital work as directed by management to ensure compliance with trust safety standards and procedures.
* Work in accordance with the requirements of decontamination CFPP01 (HTM 2010/2030) and HTM04 Water Supplies; prepared to work in hazardous areas with safety measures to prevent danger, injury and damage to equipment.
* Actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
* Participate in the NHS labour control scheme (Planet) including completion of required documentation in paper and electronic PDA format.
* Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management; undertake on-call/shift duties as part of the team to ensure emergencies are attended out of normal hours.
* Carry out maintenance tasks while ensuring minimal risk or inconvenience to patients, staff and visitors and maintaining a safe, secure and pleasant environment in a busy acute hospital.
