Our client is a highly-regarded global defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an associate or senior associate with a minimum of 5 years of qualified experience to join their high-performing property damage team in Manchester. This is a hybrid role and a verypetitive salary and bonus is available and negotiable dependent on experience.
Your new role
This Property Damage role will see you:
1. Handle a diverse caseload of property damage claims, including fire, flood, subsidence, and escape of water/oil.
2. Advise insurer clients onplex product liability matters, including defective goods, manufacturing faults, and supply chain risks.
3. Advise on policy coverage matters
4. Provide clear, strategic guidance on policy coverage issues acrossmercial and domestic insurance lines.
5. Conduct liability investigations and quantum assessments, instructing experts where necessary.
6. Represent clients in pre-action protocols, ADR processes, and court proceedings.
7. Liaise directly with insurer clients, loss adjusters, and third-party solicitors to progress claims efficiently.
8. Supervise and support junior team members, contributing to their development and quality assurance.
9. Maintain accurate case management records and ensurepliance with client SLAs and regulatory standards.
10. Participate in client training, thought leadership, and business development initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience in a similar property damage role. You must have proven experience handling higher-value property damage claims, including fire, flood, subsidence and escape of water/oil. Applicants must have strong knowledge and/or previous experience handling product liability and policy coverage claims. Experience supervising junior team members is advantageous. You must bemercially aware and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice.
