Job Title: Senior Support Worker - Children's Residential
Location: Luton, LU4
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: Days, evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins (rotational shifts)

We are a nurturing and child-focused residential care provider committed to creating positive futures for children and young people. Our Ofsted-registered children's home in Luton provides a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
We are now looking for a Children's Senior Support Worker who is experienced, motivated, and ready to take the next step in their career. You'll be a key member of our team—supporting the young people in our care and mentoring junior staff to maintain a high standard of care and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people in line with individual care plans
* Lead shifts and support with rota planning and daily delegation
* Serve as a positive role model and mentor for other support workers
* Support children with education, activities, and life skills development
* De-escalate challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
* Complete reports, risk assessments, and incident records to a high standard
* Ensure safeguarding and compliance with all relevant legislation and care standards
* Work in partnership with external agencies, schools, and families
What We're Looking For:
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)
* A calm, confident, and consistent approach to care
* Ability to lead, support, and develop others
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
* A full UK driving licence (essential)
* Flexibility to work on a rota including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins
