Northwood is currently accepting applications for Registered Nurses to join our long term care team in Bedford.
Responsibilities
* Resident checks and rounds (including, but not limited to vitals, breathing, incontinent round, safety rounds, narcotic, charting)
* Medication administration (includes processing Doctor’s orders)
* Resident personal care (includes feeding/assistance, bowel care, dressing, wound care, blood work)
* Resident, family, and staff support (includes addressing questions and concerns, assisting other Northwood workers)
* General duties and administration (includes mail, paper work, ordering supplies, assigning duties)
* Completes other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training
* Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Nova Scotia
* Current basic CPR
* Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties
* Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
* Previous experience in gerontological nursing an asset
* Leadership /Charge experience preferred
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Good problem solving and decision-making skills
* Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting
* Knowledge of / experience with a team based person-centered care approach
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
Hours/Shifts
Full Time and Part Time (Various shifts)
