Nutcracker in Havana Winter Tour 25-26 Swing Technician Norwich Theatre are seeking a Swing Technician for the Winter 2025/26 Tour of Carlos Acosta's "Nutcracker in Havana" Contract: This is a Freelance, Fixed Term contract for the Nutcracker in Havana Winter Tour. Dates commencing 26th October 2025 and ending 11th February 2026. Please refer to the Tour schedule for dates of work. Fee: £ 200 per day (Travel days paid at half rate). Main Purpose of the Role To provide Technical and Assistant Stage Management cover for the technical rehearsals, performances and get outs of the Nutcracker in Havana production. The Swing Technician is a multi-skilled member of the production team who provides flexible support for installation and operation across the key technical departments — Stage, Lighting, Sound, AV and Assistant Stage Management — as required. This role is ideal for someone with broad technical knowledge who thrives on variety, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Key Responsibilities • Shadow and learn Assistant Stage Manager, Stage Technician, Lighting Technician and Sd/AV Technician roles for production fit up, rehearsal, performances and Get Outs • Assist and oversee the safe and efficient setup and de-rigging of production equipment. • Liase with venue technical staff to support the production technical requirements, providing solutions and expertise as needed. • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures to ensure production equipment is safe, compliant, and correctly rigged and constructed. • Support the Department in motivating the Productions Team and delivering high-quality work to schedule. • To maintain a good working relationship with the Performing Company. Production Administration • Support the Production Team in maintaining equipment inventories, setting lists, cue sheets, inspection logs, and service records Health & Safety • Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols, including testing and inspections • Ensure a safe working environment through daily practice and compliance • Promote awareness of technical safety across the team Please refer to the attached role description for the person spec and full details of the role.
