Stevenage / Hitchin + multi‑siteAt Hays Accountancy & Finance, we’re proud to be supporting our client in the search for a proactive andmercially minded Finance Business Partner. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaborating with operational teams, driving financial performance, and contributing to long‑term organisational success.
Working as part of a dedicated finance team, you’ll partner with managers across the business to deliver insightful analysis, strengthen financial controls, and support strategic decision‑making.
The Role
1. Provide expert financial business partnering to budget holders, helping them understand management accounts and performance.
2. Lead forecasting discussions, analyse variances, and support consolidation of annual group forecasts.
3. Produce monthly payroll analysis, highlight discrepancies, and support managers in understanding staffingmitments.
4. Maintain the General Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Fixed Asset Register with accurate and timely entries.
5. Oversee weekly cash flow updates and maintain a rolling 36‑month cash flow forecast.
6. Support statutory financial statements and regulatory returns while contributing to audit andernance improvements.
7. Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to support business cases and strategic decisions.
Candidate Profile
8. At least five years’ experience working within a finance environment, ideally in a partnering or management reporting role.
9. AAT qualified, recently qualified, or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
10. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability tomunicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
11. A proactive, organised approach with the ability to see tasks through topletion and drive continuous improvement.
