Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).
About the role:
A vacancy has arisen for a Biomedical scientist in our Cellular Pathology Department based at Lister Hospital following implementation of a new Pathology and Phlebotomy services programme commissioned by the Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board with services set to commence from 1st March 2025.
We are looking for an experienced Biomedical Scientist who will become an integral part of our service, being actively involved across all areas of the laboratory.
The Cellular Pathology laboratory at Lister hospital is in the process of transforming its service following implementation of a new Pathology and Phlebotomy services programme commissioned by the Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board with services set to commence from 1st March 2025 which will see significant investment in the laboratory infrastructure and technology update required to modernise the service in line with the wider HSL consolidated service model operated out of 60 Whitfield Street in King’s Cross. Our new, purpose designed laboratory opened in January 2020, with entirely new equipment, and houses one of the largest Cellular Pathology services in Europe. Working closely with our academic partners in UCL and other national research bodies, the service is also a major centre for clinical trials.
The normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week; the distribution of which is at the discretion of the Head of Department.
