Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special needs, including autism and other disabilities. This role involves supporting teachers in delivering high-quality education and care to students, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.
Responsibilities
* Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities tailored to the needs of students with autism and other disabilities.
* Provide one-on-one support to children, ensuring they are engaged and participating in classroom activities.
* Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing positive reinforcement strategies.
* Support the personal care needs of students, including toddler care when necessary.
* Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
* Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.
Experience
* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or special educational needs, is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with teaching methodologies and strategies for engaging students with autism is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
* A background in special education or related fields will be an advantage.
* Experience in toddler care is a plus, as it may be required in certain settings.
