Description Support the Senior Building Surveyor in delivering the Council's Property and Assets objectives through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration. Maintain and develop professional knowledge, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations. Assist in coordinating team activities, providing guidance and supervision where required. Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively to a range of stakeholders. Produce accurate reports, briefings, and presentations to support decision-making. Contribute to policy development, service planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support budget setting, income generation, and expenditure monitoring in line with Council procedures. Undertake research and analysis to inform property and asset management activities. Lead and support project management, procurement, commissioning, and performance monitoring of projects. Assist in managing repairs, maintenance, and capital projects across the Council's property portfolio. Undertake stock condition surveys, prepare condition reports, and develop planned maintenance programmes for public buildings and schools. Help prioritise, programme, and monitor reactive and planned maintenance works. Support the procurement and management of design consultants and technical briefs. Assist in safeguarding the Council's interests through risk assessments, funding advice, and risk management support. Develop and maintain positive customer relationships in relation to maintenance programmes. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and partner organisations on policies, regulations, and legislation. Promote collaborative working, innovation, and a flexible approach across a range of projects. Take pride and responsibility in maintaining Council office accommodation. Comply with the Council's financial procedures, annual review processes, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commitments, and Health and Safety requirements. Undertake any other duties, training, or responsibilities appropriate to the grade and purpose of the post.Profile A successful Building Surveyor should have: A professional qualification in building surveying, construction, or a related field.
