JOB PURPOSE
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the financial aspects of the Charity. The role involves assisting with the organisation's finances, including budgeting, accounting reporting, and compliance. The role holder will administer income and expenses, maintain financial records, reconcile bank accounts and handle payroll. The role also involves supporting the Chief Officer and Strategic Outcomes officer with financial information for funding applications.
KEY TASKS
· Maintain accurate financial records
· Prepare management accounts, reports and budgets
· Assist in VAT returns
· Work with the appointed accountants and auditors to prepare annual financial statements and facilitate annual audit
· Draw up annual budget in conjunction with Chief Officer and Team Leaders for Board approval
· Provide the Chief Officer and the Board with financial monitoring and to allow resource allocation
· Support with financial information for funding applications and reports
· Undertake monthly payroll and associated paperwork regarding tax and pensions
· Support Modern Apprentice in finance with learning
Other:
· Undertake any training and professional development as and when required.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be deemed necessary by the Chief Officer and approved by the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications and Experience
· Qualifications in Accounting to minimum HNC level
· Experience of similar role within the third sector desirable
· Experience of SAGE cloud or similar
· Excel experience
Additional Requirements
· This role may require travel to events or training
· This role may require weekend/evening working on occasion
· This role will require full Disclosure Scotland checks to take place.
