Job Description
As Junior Buyer you will be part of the Supply Chain team supporting the procurement of electronic components, mechanical, and related materials.
Typical activities include:
1. Support sourcing and pricing of electrical and mechanical items to provide best price, to the right specification and time scales.
2. Build good relationships with suppliers to negotiate costs, terms, and delivery schedules.
3. Support component availability risks and management plans.
4. Interacting with engineering departments for alternative components identification.
5. Provides inputs into procurement decisions including make/buy, source selection and supplier qualification.
6. Raising of requisitions.
7. Raising Purchase Orders and maintaining accurate records
8. Manage exceptions and expedite PO deliveries.
9. Undertaking supplier ‘due diligence’ and approved vendor listing process.
10. Support commodity buying when required
Qualifications
11. Degree or equivalent education preferred in a relevant subject
12. Purchasing knowledge/experience preferable but not essential - this role may be suitable for a recent Supply Chain/Business Management graduate
13. ERP/MRP experience preferable but not essential
14. Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
15. Good analytical skills
16. Negotiation skills
17. Knowledge of electronic and mechanical component procurement desirable
18. Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
Additional Information
This role has a salary of between £28,350 - £31,500 plus our flexible benefits package.
We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 2/3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
