Job responsibilities
* Provide clinical and operational leadership and first-line management for a community-based mental health team within a designated geographical locality.
* Work with senior clinicians and hold responsibility for the delivery of a high-quality, high-performing team to a defined population.
* Ensure staff have opportunities for continuing professional development, meet registration body requirements, and drive improvements in clinical practice and patient care in line with NHS modernisation and Public Health agendas.
* Provide direct clinical care to patients.
* Lead the delivery of clinical governance, quality improvement and performance management within the identified locality team.
* Promote a culture of compassionate care, quality improvement, reflective practice and continuous learning.
* Use key performance indicators to drive consistent, person-centred, high-quality care for service users, carers and families.
* Collaborate with service managers and clinical leaders to ensure seamless transitions across mental health pathways.
Qualifications
* Hold relevant professional qualification (RMN, SW, OT).
* Completion of or working towards management or leadership training.
* Documented evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Knowledge
* Expert knowledge of mental health issues and their impact on individuals, carers and the wider community.
* Expertise in current best practice in adult mental health and awareness of relevant government directives and legislation.
* Specialist knowledge and application of mental health assessments and interventions using expert-level clinical reasoning.
Experience
* Several years post registration experience in a mental health setting, with at least one year in a relevant specialist area.
* Familiarity with audit processes.
* Use of evidence-based practice.
* Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work in mental health specialties.
