Financial Controller | Great Gransden (with some travel required to the Stevenage office) | Full Time | Working hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday | £40,000-£50,000 per annum Our client is a tape printing company with manufacturing sites in Great Gransden and Stevenage. They are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day, weekly and monthly financial operations, and to support the Finance Director in delivering accurate management information. Are you the right person for the job? ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified, QBE considered Strong knowledge of Sage Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash flow management A proven track record of bank reconciliation, supplier payments and credit control Good understanding of monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations Experience with VAT returns, reporting and audit support Excellent Excel skills and the ability to present financial data clearly High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A collaborative, problem-solving approach and willingness to support colleagues when needed Positive can-do attitude and analytical approach Ideally with experience in a manufacturing/print business A UK driving licence and own car are essential What will your role look like? Your responsibilities will cover daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc finance tasks, including: Processing bank transactions, customer receipts and purchase ledger invoices Credit control, including chasing late payments and escalating as required Reconciling bank accounts, managing cashflow forecasts and supplier payments (UK & EU) Managing invoice discount facility drawdowns and reconciliations Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation Reviewing aged debtors and creditors, stock adjustments and fixed assets Assisting the Finance Director with monthly management accounts Preparing quarterly VAT and PPT returns Supporting audit requirements Producing analysis, reporting and sales reports as required Treasury management and wider financial control responsibilities What can you expect in return? 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays Free parking on site Pension scheme Potential for hybrid working following successful probation Training, mentoring and professional development opportunities Support to qualify on the job if part-qualified What's next?
