The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work as part of a dedicated Early Years team, supporting children in Nursery and/or Reception. You will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, ensuring that learning experiences are engaging, purposeful, and developmentally appropriate.
You will play a key role in supporting children’s learning through structured activities and play-based learning, helping them to develop early communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and social skills. The role requires a patient, caring, and observant practitioner who understands how young children learn and who can respond effectively to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the effective running of the Early Years setting, including:
* Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework
* Working with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
* Supporting children’s communication and language development, including early phonics and listening skills
* Encouraging the development of personal, social, and emotional skills such as confidence, independence, and cooperation
* Supporting learning through play, both indoors and outdoors
* Assisting with the observation, assessment, and recording of children’s progress and achievements
* Helping to prepare, organise, and maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment
* Supporting children during daily routines, including arrival, transitions, mealtimes, and toileting where necessary
* Encouraging positive behaviour and modelling appropriate social interactions
* Supporting children with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
* Working collaboratively with teachers, Early Years practitioners, and other support staff
The Ideal Candidate
