Primary Responsibility
Provide outstanding customer service while delivering goods to customers.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times.
- Represent the Company and provide excellent customer service at all levels and a warm and helpful attitude.
- Load and unload, delivering goods to the customer’s delivery point in accordance with manual handling and health & safety training.
- Deliver goods in a polite manner to the customer’s delivery point including manual handling of goods up to 25kg.
- Create a work balance of 50% driver and 50% customer service representative.
- Be customer and service focused, "face of JJ."
- Uphold the company brand image, uniformed smart appearance with a positive attitude at all times.
- Ensure service quality remains constantly high.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and security of your assigned vehicle.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards of your assigned lorry and staff under control.
- Drive assigned vehicles to assigned customer accounts until the finish of all assigned deliveries, working to tight deadlines.
- Ensure the deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Follow your route sequence.
- Collect and bank in accordance with payment terms, ensuring the money is secure at all times.
- Never exceed £1000 in cash during banking.
- Ensure all invoices and relevant documents are signed by the customers and yourself with the correct received amount.
- Identify counterfeit money.
- Keep company mobile device charged and on at all times.
- Wear full JJ uniform and safety boots, smart and clean presentation.
- Report all accidents and injuries at work straight away and take pictures of the damage as described in the employee handbook.
- Obey all traffic laws and limits.
- Organise and control helper.
- Accurately and clearly complete your tachograph (if applicable).
- Carry out such further tasks as may be delegated by your line manager.
- Ensure that the company internal/external customer care & equal opportunity policies are adhered to at all times.
- Be responsible for and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for Health & Safety.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the department and JJ Food Service goals.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Lifting
The job involves lifting of products (ambient, chilled and frozen) with different weights up to 25 kg.
Equipment
Sack barrow (trolley) for drivers and helpers
Pump trucks (warehouse operatives, drivers and helpers)
Skills
- Clean and valid C1 driving license
- Digital tachograph card
- Good driver with thorough understanding of road safety
- Patience to tolerate long drives and heavy traffic
- Able to work alone or as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills, remaining pleasant and friendly

- Good map reading skills and knowledge of the area
