Overview
Intercity is seeking an Account Director to join its sales team. This is a hybrid role, working from home with some travel to the Intercity offices in the West Midlands. The Account Director will develop and close additional and cross-sale opportunities to underpin the ongoing growth and development of Intercity. All members of the sales team are responsible for selling Intercity’s complete range of Communications, Cloud & Security and Managed Services solutions within their assigned accounts, while ensuring the successful retention of existing services.
The sales team is results driven, with responsibilities to achieve personal sales targets as well as contribute to the overall team targets. The Account Director is responsible for developing and driving their own account sales strategies, identifying and qualifying leads, and consistently closing business on a monthly basis to meet agreed sales targets. This may include developing new opportunities within new accounts through referrals and cultivating opportunities with existing accounts.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain up-to-date account sales strategy
* Manage the sales cycle to develop new revenue
* Create, identify, and qualify selling opportunities through the preparation of high-quality, accurate proposals and quotations for customers and conclude contracts in accordance with Intercity policies and procedures
* Deliver consistent and on-plan revenue growth through skilled pipeline management
* Maintain an active 30-60-90-day sales pipeline, manage account profitability, revise revenue projections, and provide monthly updates on sales opportunities
* Contribute to the highest levels of prospect and customer satisfaction
* Motivate and direct virtual resource teams to work effectively to win business
* Ensure accurate data on customer contacts, prospects and opportunities are maintained through the Intercity CRM
* Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge
* Make recommendations on improvements to Intercity services and service quality
* Consistently deliver sales against pipeline commitments and agreed timescales
Education and Qualifications
* A good standard of education.
* Educated to a degree level desirable.
Experience and Knowledge
* At least ten years’ experience within a similar sales environment.
* Demonstrable experience of managing a complete sales cycle from opportunity creation to closing a sale within the B2B environment.
* Proven track record of consistently achieving new business targets.
* Confident in conversing with and presenting to senior management and directors.
