Senior Audit Manager – Salary: National - circa £80,000 / London – circa £100,000

The Transformation, Customer and Sustainability team within Internal Audit is growing at pace, with an exciting challenge to help Aviva transform performance and execute the Group’s strategy.
A bit about the job:
You will have an understanding of those risks and controls critical to Aviva, be curious, have good relationship skills with the ability to influence management, motivate change and lead effective audit delivery teams.
In this position, under the guidance of the Head of Internal Audit, you will be working with colleagues to plan and execute audits to a high quality to provide audit assurance and insights over the highest risks facing Aviva. You'll be responsible for managing the delivery of individual audits and portfolios of audits, including leading small teams of colleagues assigned to delivery audits and managing the budget for those audits then communicating and reporting to the relevant stakeholders the assessment of the effectiveness of the framework of controls, root causes and culture.
In this role, you will own the interaction with business management for issue tracking to support Internal Audit’s validation of closure, and support the reporting to internal audits key stakeholders (e.g. Audit Committees, Risk Committees, Board Committees, etc) and through these influencing management actions, deliver a more effective controls framework. Pivotal in this role will be your ability to support the transformation and continual improvement of the Internal Audit function, including helping support training and development of team members in technical subject areas as well as lead the production of objective, concise and insightful audit reports.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Audit Professionalism – internal audit skills and methodological application (planning, business analysis, risk and control evaluation, testing and reporting).
2. Experience of working in an insurance or relevant financial services function, audit firm or UK regulator. Ideally this will include experience in Head Office / Group Centre / Group Function activities.
3. Experience in leading the delivery of complex audits, working within teams, negotiation situations and interacting with key stakeholders and supporting the personal development of team members.
4. Excellent senior level relationship management and influencing through impactful verbal and written communication.
5. Significant experience of operating at senior management level.

6. Starting salary circa £80,000 (National) / £100,000 (London) (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
7. Bonus opportunity – 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
