An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a children’s occupational therapy assistant within the ISCAN team (Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs). We are a multi‑agency team, consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dieticians and nursing.
Our Occupational Therapy service delivers specialist care to children and young people 0‑19 years with a variety of health needs which impact their ability to engage in everyday occupations.
A dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced person is required to join our friendly, motivated and highly skilled team. The applicant should be an excellent communicator and have relevant experience of working with children and young people. You will have support from experienced colleagues within the occupational Therapy and wider multi‑disciplinary team and have regular supervision from your line manager.
The post holder will work as a member of the Occupational Therapy team, supporting the delivery of parent and family centred care, with supervision and support available from a designated therapist. They will be able to work independently with service users within the scope of the role and operational policies, protocols, and procedures. Work may be in clinics, schools or families’ homes and will include demonstrating and delivering therapy interventions; reviewing, adjusting and providing guidance on the use of specialist equipment; and making assessments and recommendations for minor adaptations. The post holder will have a commitment to collaborative working, liaising with other health, education and social care professionals and agencies as required.
