The Pre‑Sales Technical Engineer is a key part of the winning process for the commercial sales network. Presales technical support engineers in each region serve local customers with technical, design and selection advice, quotations, and collaborative support with sales and operations teams.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical product support to customers and colleagues via email, phone and face‑to‑face.
* Accompany sales partners on customer visits and calls to enhance win capabilities.
* Manage the local presales technical inbox to ensure responses within agreed service levels.
* Produce technically and commercially accurate quotations within required response times.
* Suggest improvements to processes and systems to enhance efficiency and service.
* Escalate situations affecting customer service levels to the team leader and regional business manager.
* Assist sales and operations teams during new product launches, product changeovers, aged stock promotions and stock shortages.
* Highlight system or process issues that affect quotation preparation.
* Ensure record keeping in CM2 (CRM) is up to date, completing all primary fields.
* Adhere to LES values and standards.
Qualifications
* Strong product knowledge.
* Industry experience preferred.
* Mathematical and problem‑solving skills.
* Knowledge of markets and customer decision factors.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
* IT literacy, including full Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
