Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and nurturing Pre-School Room Leader to lead and inspire our pre-school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a high-quality, engaging learning environment that supports children's development, wellbeing, and school readiness.
You will lead by example, ensuring excellent practice, strong teamwork, and meaningful learning experiences that reflect children's interests and individual needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
* Lead, motivate, and support the pre-school team to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
* Organise daily routines, staff deployment, and room operations effectively.
* Act as a positive role model, promoting high standards of practice and professionalism.
* Support staff development through coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Child Development & Learning
* Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years curriculum.
* Observe, assess, and track children's development, ensuring next steps are planned effectively.
* Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that supports all children.
* Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence, and confidence.
Partnership with Parents & Professionals
* Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.
* Share children's progress and development regularly.
* Work collaboratively with external professionals where needed.
Safeguarding & Compliance
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Ensure the room meets health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Person Specification
Essential
* Relevant Level 3 (or above) childcare qualification.
* Experience working with pre-school aged children.
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an early years setting.
* Strong knowledge of child development and early years practice.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
* Welsh speaking or willingness to learn.
* Experience supporting staff development and mentoring.
* Passion for creative, child-led learning approaches.

Job Type: Full-time
