The Role
The Production Operator will be responsible for the setup, operation and monitoring of production machines in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Operate Tetra, Elopak Pak and Mariani production machinery according to established procedures.
* Monitor machine performance, detect defects, and address any malfunctions promptly.
* Minimise waste during machine and mixer operations.
* Ensure compliance with operational safety, food safety, and quality standards.
* Collaborate with process engineers and other machine operators to maintain quality output.
* Safe operation of fork trucks for loading and unloading of product
* Keep equipment clean and well-maintained in accordance with procedures.
* Recording of production records to ensure the traceability of goods from production to customer
* Work with colleagues in Quality/Warehousing/Maintenance to resolve issues and maximise efficiency
* Undertake Training and Development as required
* Undertake any other relevant duties as required of the role
The Post Holder
This post is ideally suited to someone, with experience operating computerised production machinery within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods environment. Candidates should possess either:
* Be qualified to Junior Cert/GCSE standard with experience operating computerised production machinery, or possess 1 years’ experience operating computerised production machinery.
* Previous experience in a FMCG environment would be an advantage
* Experience operating a Fork Truck would be desirable
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-directing and proactive with a good work ethic. Problem solving, attention to detail and flexibility are essential skills alongside the ability to communicate proficiently in English both verbally and in writing. The ability to organise, plan and communicate is essential. Previous experience within the food industry is desirable but not essential.

P Mulrine & Sons was established in 1919. Originally located just off Main Street Ballybofey with a workforce of 4 people, the company specialised in the production and distribution of soft drinks and bottled beer.
In 1971 P Mulrines & Sons Sales was established, and a new plant was opened on the Donegal Road which offered greater opportunities to the local people for employment with numbers increasing to around 80 people at the site
With the period of growth that followed our first Tetra Pak fillers were introduced in 1982.
An independent fourth generation family business the Company has grown steadily over the years.
