We're looking for an Assistant Planner to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based in the Southwest. Location : Exeter, Devon - some remote working available, with regular travel to the office required Hours : 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available including part-time if desired, just let us know when you speak to us Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract What will you be responsible for? As an Assistant Planner, you'll be working within the Environment Agency team, supporting them by working on projects within our Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework.The works include but are not limited to coastal protection, flood defences, reservoir improvements & debris screen replacements. This role will suit someone with small to medium scale civil engineering infrastructure project experience, in the NEC contract environment. Your day to day will include: Collaborate with planners and operational teams to sequence work, plan logistics, and allocate resources effectively. Monitor project progress across all phases, ensuring alignment with design, construction, commissioning, and handover goals. Identify and assess changes early, communicating impacts with the commercial team to manage risk and cost. Develop and manage programme submissions in line with contract and client requirements. Coordinate with supply chain partners, support tendering efforts, and drive efficient project delivery. What are we looking for? This role of Assistant Planner is great for you if: Civil engineering planning experience gained within the contractor environment. Excellent communication skills, including leadership, management, analytical & problem-solving skills and can take the lead with client interfaces. History of working on multiple projects, within a framework environment. Whilst you'll be an operator of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 planning software, knowledge and experience of how other forms can be used to communicate the programme is essential.
