Role Overview:
The Commercial Finance Manager will act as a key business partner to commercial and operational teams, providing strategic financial insight to support decision-making, profitability analysis, and business growth. This role will take a lead in financial planning, forecasting, customer and product profitability analysis, and performance tracking across all three entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
* Act as a trusted advisor to Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.
* Analyse and challenge commercial plans, pricing models, promotions, and customer profitability.
* Support contract negotiations with key retail and foodservice customers.
* Provide margin analysis by channel, customer, and product line.
Financial Planning & Analysis
* Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly rolling forecasts.
* Develop financial models to support new product development and investment cases.
* Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights to drive performance.
Reporting & Decision Support
* Prepare and deliver commercial performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Drive improvements in reporting tools and processes to ensure accurate, timely data.
* Support monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
Cross-Entity Financial Consolidation
* Oversee consolidation of commercial data across all three business units.
* Ensure consistency and alignment of financial reporting structures and systems.
Project Work
* Lead or support strategic initiatives such as channel development, M&A analysis, or ERP implementation.
* Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure proposals.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a Commercial Finance or FP&A role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of retail and/or foodservice commercial models.
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate data into insight.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) desirable.
* Experience working in a multi-entity or group structure preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence at all levels.
