Job title: Summer Intern Digital Intelligence Material Scientist
Location: Great Baddow
We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-5 days per week.
Salary: £26,300 (pro-rated, based on a 40 hour week)
What you’ll be doing:
As a Materials Scientist, you will be working as part of a multidiscipline team within the Product Assurance Response Centre (PARC). PARC’s activities include:
* Providing rapid troubleshooting and failure analysis service relating to components, production and processes
* Using test and analytical equipment to ensure problems are solved in a timely fashion, supporting colleagues on a wide range of enquiries.
* Preparing technical reports, test procedures, process specifications and other product documentation
* Knowledge of materials properties, selection, processing and testing, ideally encompassing polymers, metals, ceramics and composites, adhesives and surface finishes and coatings.
* Working with analytical techniques e.g. SEM / EDX, XRF, 3D X-Ray/ CT, Tensile testing, material / sample preparation, DSC/TGA, FTIR (EGA), TMA, DMA, NDT techniques etc. (In-house training will also be provided). A proven track record in a production, electronics or quality environment is preferable.

Qualification Requirements:
As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:1 in your Bachelor's of Master's degree in a STEM subject.
