We are recruiting a full-time, permanent Materials Control Planner. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring the timely and adequate supply of materials for production. You will join a small, experienced team, working to a forecast alongside a production plan, placing and scheduling orders, coordinating deliveries, and reacting to production changes. Managing stock levels according to global guidelines is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Expedite shipment of components to meet production needs by maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
* Manage order books to ensure on-time deliveries by maintaining regular contact with worldwide suppliers via telephone and email.
* Analyze component demand and take appropriate actions to fulfill production and spare parts orders.
* Anticipate and communicate potential component shortages to relevant colleagues.
* Review and place purchase orders using our Material Requirement Planning system (MRP).
* Place and administer work order requirements.
* Handle daily component queries, stock adjustments, and general administrative duties.
* Participate in weekly shortage meetings and report risks to the production team.
* Support team members with materials control objectives as needed.
Skills Required:
* Excellent communication skills for effective relationships with internal and external contacts via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactive and able to work independently, prioritizing workload effectively.
* High accuracy and attention to detail, with good spoken and written English and numeracy skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software.
* Experience in general administration.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, with a standard weekly schedule.
