Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Freelance Civil Site Engineer on behalf of a large civil engineering main contractor to work on a significant £40m flood alleviation project in Derby.
A innovative civil engineering contractor with an ever-growing reputation in Civil Engineering across North of England. The project is a new flood alleviation scheme. The project will provide 2 years work in the local area and ultimately will drastically improve the flood resilience of Derby for many years to come.
The Engineer will work within the FRC / re-enforced concrete / structures team alongside Senior Engineer, Agent and other combined packages on site.
Duties:
* Complex setting out - using relevant kit
* Checking of sub-contractors work
* As-builts
* QA
* Involvement with site briefings
* Assisting Site Agent
* Updating site documentation
Experience required:
* Must have proven experience as Site Engineer within a Heavy Civil Engineering setting
* Must be confident with setting out shuttering, working with rebar schedules and concrete quality / testing.
* Must be fully competent with working as PC and adept with documentation and site engineering processes
* Must have experience with relevant kit: Total Station, Leica, Topcon etc.
* Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree)
* Must hold: CSCS card and full driving license
Pay:
A rate of up to £360 per day (doe).
Can be paid outside IR-35 providing contractors meet requirements. Elvet Recruitment has a dedicated IR-35 partner who provide checks and can offer IR-35 insurance packages. Also can be paid CIS if desired.
