We are looking for an accomplished Director of Content Operations to lead and optimise a large-scale, distributed content function at the heart of one of Europe’s leading sports media brands. This is a high-impact operational leadership role focused on building the systems, workflows and processes that enable world-class content to be delivered efficiently, consistently and at scale.
The opportunity
Lead end-to-end content production operations for a digital sports media network reaching more than 400M monthly users. You will design and implement the processes, tools and structures that keep hundreds of pieces of content flowing seamlessly across multiple platforms, brands and geographies.
This role is about driving operational excellence, speed and quality, ensuring that creative and commercial teams have the infrastructure to perform at their best.
What you’ll do
* Lead large-scale distributed teams (100+ people) across multiple European markets, ensuring operational consistency and delivery excellence
* Design, document and optimise workflows for content creation, editing, approval and publication across all digital platforms
* Implement automation and tooling improvements within CMS, DAM and planning systems to drive speed and accuracy
* Oversee SEO and metadata operations, ensuring content performance is tracked and continuously improved
* Align content production with commercial goals, coordinating between editorial, product, marketing and partnerships
* Introduce KPIs, SLAs and reporting dashboards to monitor efficiency, quality and output across teams
* Champion continuous improvement, leading change management initiatives and embedding best practice globally
What you’ll bring
* Proven track record leading large-scale content operations in digital media, publishing or sports
* Deep understanding of workflow optimisation, process automation and content management systems
* Experience managing remote or distributed production teams
* Strong grasp of SEO operations, analytics and performance-led content management
* Demonstrated change management and stakeholder influencing skills across multiple business divisions
* A passion for building scalable, efficient systems that empower creative teams and drive audience growth
