Contek Recruitment is currently partnering with a reputable precision engineering company located in Tamworth, West Midlands. Due to ongoing success and growth, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
ABOUT THE COMPANY: The company specializes in delivering precision machining and subcontract machining solutions, defence project work, and the design and manufacture of high-quality work-holding solutions. Founded in the UK in 1939, they have been transforming complex ideas into solutions for over 85 years, establishing an excellent international reputation.
They primarily supply the nuclear, aerospace and defence, medical, machine tool, automotive, and power generation sectors. Their customer base includes blue-chip organizations such as Rolls Royce, Boeing, Siemens, and Toyota.
WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, with a 12:30 pm finish on Friday.
SALARY/PAY: £50,000 - £60,000 per year (dependent on experience)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as the sole Business Development Manager, promoting on-site services across the UK, including bespoke workholding solutions and subcontract machining services to the Aerospace and Defence industries.
2. Generate new leads, customers, and enquiries for all departments within UK operations.
3. Liaise with customers, negotiate, and close contracts.
4. Represent the company in all markets and develop sales and marketing activities for new business areas.
5. Support management in developing specific departments.
6. Participate in exhibitions to promote services and generate leads.
7. Assist in preparing technical proposals and quotations.
8. Identify new opportunities, untapped geographic areas, and potential customers.
9. Maintain and develop customer contacts to generate new business.
PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
1. Proven sales/business development experience with a track record of securing new opportunities.
2. Experience in business development within specialist manufacturing and subcontract precision machining.
3. Ability to identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities targeting key areas.
4. Driven, committed, and ambitious to contribute long-term to the company.
PACKAGE:
1. Base salary: £50k-£60k.
2. Commission structure (detailed below).

COMMISSION STRUCTURE:
1. Up to £250k of net sales – 2%
2. £350k to £500k of net sales – 3%
3. Above £500k of net sales – 5%
