Du Pont (U.K.) Industrial Limited, where the globally recognised Kevlar® yarn is manufactured, are seeking an experienced Engineer f/m, to be based in Maydown, Derry / Londonderry.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team dedicated to leading continuous improvement initiatives, driven by evidence-based analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with company Safety, Health & Environment standards, and procedures.
2. Develop and problem-solve processes to support the manufacture of Kevlar® yarn applications. Monitor and manage process variables to achieve efficient production.
3. Lead & participate in front-end loading of capital projects.
4. Lead & Participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) for existing or new processes.
5. Apply knowledge of the Line of Business (LOB) technology to define and implement solutions for Process Safety Management (PSM), Grow and Improve projects.
6. Lead & provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis investigations.
7. Provide day to day support to operations
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
8. BEng degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronic or Manufacturing)
9. 5 years demonstrated process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
10. Legal right to work in the UK, without the requirement for DuPont to act as a Visa Sponsor
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
11. Practical working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
12. Experience working in polymer/chemical processing environment
