Facilities Officer - South Sites

The post holder is directly responsible for overseeing the delivery and monitoring of a range of Facilities services essential for the effective working of the Trust including domestic, catering, portering, waste, pest control, linen/laundry and any other Facilities functions if required.
Contribute to the delivery of high quality Patient Care by providing well managed and maintained premises. As part of the Facilities Senior Management Team, the post holder will deputise for other Senior Managers if required.
Participate in the formulation of the Trust's strategies and plans, monitoring and initiating action appropriately in relation to the department's contribution to the effective development and management of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Oversee and monitor internal contracts such as pest control, window cleaning and waste and participate in regular contract review meetings, if required.
Meet regularly with the Heads of departments, including Renal Dialysis Units, Queen Mary's, Beckenham Beacon and Orpington and others to be agreed with the Line Manager, to discuss service delivery. Prepare and present regular reports to the CEF Management team, detailing the performance of each area of contracted service provision.
Deliver presentations to senior groups of staff on matters related to the performance of all the Soft FM Services. Lead the PLACE auditing, reporting and rectification process for the South Sites. Be involved in the implementation and continuing assessment of the National Cleaning Standards. Use computer software, storing monitoring information by creating databases, reports and spreadsheets.
Act on behalf of clinical and non-clinical departments in dealing with complaints regarding poor levels of service by the service providers. Establish customer care groups so that feedback can be received on a regular basis to ensure services continue to meet the changing needs of its customers.

Job responsibilities
To maintain an accurate system of monitoring for these functions, in order that an accurate assessment of value for money can be drawn.
To establish criterion for assessment in order to measure standards of performance and to take appropriate proactive/corrective action when standards are not being achieved.

Manage and review systems of formal monitoring of contracts to include quality, quantity and cost incorporating customer satisfaction feedback where appropriate.
Meet regularly with the Heads of departments, including Renal Dialysis Units, Queen Mary's, Beckenham Beacon and Orpington and others to be agreed with Line Manager, to discuss service delivery.
Prepare and present regular reports to the CEF Management team, detailing the performance of each area of contracted service provision.
Deputise for the Line Manager as and when required.

Education and Qualification
* NVQ4 or Degree in management, administration or business studies or equivalent knowledge gained through experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form productive collaborative working relationships
* Ability to work independently to manage complex and difficult situations where there is often conflict
* Ability to manage initiatives within financial restraints and delivery to deadlines
Skills and Competencies
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills
* Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and the challenges it faces
