I am currently recruiting for a Repair Engineer on behalf of my client based in Wales. My client is a leading aerospace company seeking an experienced Repair Engineer to provide high-level support to the workshop and design repair schemes under their EASA/UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approval. The Repair Engineer should be familiar with aircraft engine nacelles, composite materials, repair design practices and procedures, and have a sound understanding of aerospace repair processes.

Repair Engineer
Shift Pattern:
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours a week
Responsibilities:
1. Work with operational teams and mechanics assessing aircraft damage to determine structurally acceptable and cost-effective repair schemes for various aerospace component defects, including metallic and composite, meeting EASA/UKCAA standards.
2. Consult with OEMs, regulatory bodies, and vendors on technical issues.
3. Identify and source materials.
4. Support production workshops and other departments on technical issues.
5. Carry out stress analysis to support the repair approval process.
6. Produce technical reports for modules/components as required by customers.
7. Provide technical support to production teams based on sound material and process knowledge.
8. Contribute to business process and technological improvements.
9. Conduct damage investigations and compile reports.
10. Develop new repair procedures to reduce costs and turnaround times.
11. Manage the introduction of new products.
12. Attend and pass the Boeing Part 1 Structural Repair course and other relevant courses as needed.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
1. Full rights to live and work in the UK.
2. HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline or a degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
3. At least 3-5 years of aerospace industry experience, preferably with a repair design background.
4. Proven ability to solve challenging engineering problems.
5. Ability to interpret and convert technical documentation from various sources.
6. Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
10. Willingness to travel as required.
