Our client is an established, award-winning full-service law firm based in Ealing. The firm has a strong reputation in property law and private client services, acting for a broad client base including landlords, housing associations, developers, and private individuals.
The Property Department is a key part of the firm’s practice, with recognised expertise in landlord and tenant matters, including both contentious and non-contentious work.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Housing Litigation Solicitor to join our client’s Property Litigation team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of housing and landlord litigation matters, with a particular focus on acting for landlords and housing associations.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of housing litigation matters from instruction through to conclusion
* Acting for landlords, housing associations, and property owners
* Conducting possession proceedings, including both standard and accelerated claims
* Handling rent arrears recovery and enforcement
* Managing anti-social behaviour injunctions
* Defending disrepair claims
* Advising on breaches of tenancy and lease obligations
* Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and applications
* Advising clients on housing law, regulatory compliance, and risk
* Attending court where appropriate and/or instructing counsel
* Engaging in alternative dispute resolution where suitable
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
* Ideally between 2 and 6 years’ PQE, although candidates outside this range will be considered
* Demonstrable experience in housing litigation and landlord and tenant law
* Experience acting for landlords and/or housing associations is preferred
* Strong working knowledge of housing legislation and civil procedure
* Ability to manage a caseload independently
* Strong communication, organisational, and client care skills
Desirable Experience
* Experience advising housing associations or local authorities
* Advocacy experience in the County Court
* Familiarity with publicly funded housing work, where applicable
