About This Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic member of staff interested in undertaking the role of Personal AdvisorsThis is within the Cared For and Care Experienced Team in Cumberland, based in Workington and Carlisle
The role consists of working with young people aged 16 – 18 alongside the allocated social worker and for care experienced young people where you would be the allocated worker. The role has statutory requirements in that the PA is required to visit at least every 8 weeks and undertake a review of their pathway plans every 6 months.
You would be supporting young people with their benefits, accommodation issues, education, employment and training, support around their health and emotional wellbeing and in some cases around parenting. Overall, you will provide advice and guidance to ensure they can make positive progress in their lives and support them to achieve their goals and ambitions.
The role will include travel as a number of Care experienced young people live out of area. This will also include work with young people seeking asylum.
We're looking for someone with a relevant qualification (DipSW, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent) and at least two years' experience working with young people. Strong communication skills, a commitment to youth empowerment, and the ability to manage a caseload are essential.
