Job summary
We are looking for a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist.
You will participate in a 6-monthly rotation scheme, managing your own caseload, evaluating interventions, and documenting in line with CSP standards.
You will provide physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice across various settings, including Outpatients, Neighbourhood Multi-professional Teams, Orthopaedics, Acute Therapies, Mental Health, and Paediatrics.
Main duties of the job:
1. Be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your work, including managing a designated caseload and prioritising tasks.
2. Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with diverse symptoms and pathologies, using appropriate clinical reasoning and manual skills.
3. Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, ensuring accurate documentation of needs and wishes.
4. Set therapeutic goals with patients and evaluate outcomes to promote independence.
5. Aware of personal clinical limitations and know when to refer to senior staff or other specialists.

Job responsibilities include:
* Effective communication of sensitive patient information to promote collaborative working.
* Utilise verbal and non-verbal communication, including with patients with communication difficulties.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation per CSP and Trust guidelines, including daily statistical input.
* Obtain and document consent for treatments.
* Participate in emergency duty, on-call, and weekend schemes as per local agreements.
* Represent the physiotherapy service in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing to patient progress reviews and discharge planning.
* Maintain clinical credibility through supervision and training.

Person Specification:
Qualifications (Essential):
* Degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Ongoing CPD/reflective practice
Desirable:
* MSCP
Experience (Essential):
* Broad clinical experience in acute inpatient and outpatient NHS placements
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
* Participation in audits
Knowledge and Skills (Essential):
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to communicate with patients with complex needs
* Ability to perform assessments and analyze conditions
* Understanding of clinical governance and outcome measures
Desirable:
* Empathy in difficult situations
* Teaching and presentation skills
