Senior CDM and H&S Consultant – Turner & Townsend

Job Description
To deliver CDM and H&S consultancy services from our Leeds office to existing and new clients. The scope of services delivered by the role‑holder is flexible, dependent upon the client’s requirements, covering both CDM and H&S management.
* Understand and develop existing systems and processes to improve both CDM and H&S efficiency.
* Provide expert advice and, where required, act as Principal Designer and help the client manage and understand their legal responsibilities, in accordance with CDM regulations.
* Establish positive relations with existing and new clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate.
* Represent Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients in a timely manner.
* Manage all commissions, where responsibility is assigned, to ensure both client expectations/scope of service and the requirements of Turner & Townsend’s business management system are effectively discharged.
* Carry out H&S performance reviews, audits and other assessments on behalf of the client.
* Liaise, proactively and professionally, with SHQ and wider Turner & Townsend colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness; support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects.
* Compile and create relevant pre‑construction information and H&S files.
Qualifications
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
* Full UK driving licence.
* NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent).
* GradIOSH or equivalent.
* Membership of the APS.
* Experience as a Principal Designer.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines.
* Extensive knowledge and experience within the construction industry, specifically around the CDM regulations.
* Experience across a diverse range of industry sectors is an advantage.
