We are looking for a dynamic, innovative consultant to join our team. If you are interested in developing your role in Emergency Medicine and are looking for a new challenge in a department that has vision, we would like to hear from you. Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will join a workforce of consultants, which are planned to expand in line with College of Emergency Medicine recommendations.

The post holder will participate fully in the provision of Emergency Medicine including clinical governance and the delivery of both Trust and Department of Health Clinical Quality Indicators. The posts will be based in the Emergency Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Experience

Essential criteria

1. General training in Emergency Medicine to specialist level or equivalent
2. Specialist interests in one/some of: Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency ultrasound, Observational Medicine
3. Ability to make decisions at consultant level

4. Full GMC registration
5. CCST/CCT in Emergency Medicine OR Registration on GMC Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine; OR within three months of achieving CCST/CCT at the time of interview
6. ATLS Provider
7. ALS Provider
8. Instructor in life support course
9. APLS Provider

10. Sufficient leadership and organisational skills
11. Communication, professional and personal skills to undertake effectively the role of consultant.
12. Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS and the Governments agenda for its modernisation
13. Management training and experience
14. Experience of teaching doctors-in-training and undergraduates (Courses in training and teaching)

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
