JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Designer (contract). The role will be working at our Reading office on a large FEED for a gas related project in the Middle East.
The Role
As a Electrical Designer you will be delivering electrically related documentation on a autonomous basis with minimal oversight of the project Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Cable Routing Design (above and below ground)
* General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-station Layouts
* Single Line Diagrams / protection schemes
* Hazardous Area Layouts
* 3D Modelling
* Power and Earthing Layouts
* Cable & Drum Schedules
* Schematic / Connection Diagrams
* Earthing Systems
* Lighting System Design (including lighting design software application)
QUALIFICATIONS
What makes you remarkable?
Expected :
* HNC in Electrical Engineering, or related subject
* A proven track record in the following project phases : FEED, Detailed Engineering (EPC)
* Be technically strong and have experience within the Oil and Gas and Power transmission industry (Overhead lines and buried HV / MV / LV cables)
* Ability to review client specification and develop techno economic optimised design solutions
* Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Previous Saudi Aramco experience
