Senior Estimator – Civil Engineering | Wakefield | £60,000 – £70,000 + Package
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum (DOE) + Car Allowance + Benefits
About the Company
Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and framework projects across Yorkshire and the North of England. With a strong pipeline of work across highways, active travel, public realm and infrastructure, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced Estimator.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of tender submissions and project costings. Working closely with senior management, engineers, and clients, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates across a range of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documents to produce bills of quantities and take-offs
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
* Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities
* Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders
* Support the commercial team during project handover and delivery
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or groundworks sector
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, highways and public realm
* Proficient in estimating software and MS Excel
* Excellent analytical and communication skills
* HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (preferred)
