OUTLINE
Valour Consultancy, a trusted provider of market intelligence in aviation, maritime, and mobility sectors, seeks a Production Manager to oversee the development of research reports. Managing a team of 11 analysts, you’ll ensure timely, high-quality delivery of syndicated and custom studies. This role involves coordinating workflows, refining processes, and enhancing report quality within a three-day workweek, with flexibility for project demands.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Essential
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder collaboration.

* Basic editing skills (grammar, formatting, spelling) for deliverable consistency.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and project management tools.
* Proactive, process-oriented approach to issue resolution.

* Experience in production management in consulting, research, or publishing.
* Background in market research or data-heavy deliverables.
* Familiarity with supporting content (e.g., landing pages, press releases).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Planning and Scheduling
* Track tasks, timelines, and milestones using a project management tool.
* Ensure analysts and managers set realistic timelines.
* Facilitate kick-off and update calls with relevant stakeholders.
* Ensure key preparatory documents are completed at the start of each project.
* Maintain a company-wide calendar of key dates (report launches, content deadlines, industry events etc.).
Quality Control
* Monitor drafts to ensure alignment with scope and quality standards.
* Perform light editing (grammar, formatting, spelling).
* Conduct a final pre-publication review of deliverables.
* Ensure deliverables meet template and formatting standards.
Collaboration and Team Coordination
* Report monthly on team output, timeliness, and process adherence.
* Help analysts prioritise by addressing pinch points and proposing solutions.
* Recommend training to address recurring issues.
* Foster a constructive, deadline-aware team culture
Performance and Progress Reporting
* Track and report monthly on team output, timeliness, and process adherence.
* Update directors on project status, flagging risks and proposing solutions.
* Provide input for analyst performance reviews on delivery and process engagement.
Problem-solving and Escalation
* Be first contact for production issues, clarifying ownership and coordinating support.
* Escalate unresolved issues as needed, communicating timeline changes clearly.
* Adapt report formats based on project type, avoiding unnecessary scope creep.
Continuous Improvement
* Analyse past timelines to set scheduling benchmarks.
* Review and evolve report templates with analysts and directors based on feedback and client needs.
Content Coordination and Promotion
* Identify opportunities to coordinate research interviews and re-use content.
* Support preparation of promotional materials.
* Ensure materials are developed at appropriate project stages and align with report content and house style.
PERFORMANCE GOALS (FIRST YEAR)
* Onboard all reports into a project management tool with clear owners, milestones, and deadlines.
* Establish regular progress check-ins with analysts and managers.
* Reduce delays by addressing bottlenecks and refining processes.
* Standardise outputs (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint) and promotional assets.
* Benchmark delivery timelines for improved planning.
* Lead training on time management, workflow, and coordination.
* Pilot new report formats (e.g., modular mini-reports, leaderboards) based on client feedback and market trends.
