What is the opportunity?
How would you like to influence the lives of around 64,000 people living in our 28,000 properties across Bristol?
As the largest residential landlord in the city, the Housing and Landlord Services Team plays a key role in ensuring our homes are safe, secure, affordable, and sustainable.
What will I be doing?
We are seeking a Building Survey Programme Manager to deliver survey programmes, including stock condition and structural surveys. This role will gather information to inform our Decent Homes assessment and guide our capital maintenance programme. Additionally, we are collecting data to better understand the structural condition of high-rise properties. This is a new role that offers the opportunity to shape and develop based on your experience and capabilities.
You will be part of the Asset Strategy Team, responsible for establishing a 30-year housing investment plan and identifying properties for upgrades in the next 12 months. The team values diversity in experience and operates in alignment with Bristol City Council’s culture and values:
* We are DEDICATED: We strive to make a difference.
* We are CURIOUS: We ask questions and explore possibilities.
* We show RESPECT: We treat each other fairly.
* We take OWNERSHIP: We accept personal accountability.
* We are COLLABORATIVE: We work together to reach shared goals.
Do I have what you are looking for?
* Experience in procurement and contract management within survey, operational, or capital works environments.
* Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
* Capability to design and operate a quality assurance system for high-quality outputs.
* A valid driving license and own vehicle: this role involves working on-site, not remote work five days a week.
* Alignment with the above values and behaviours.
If you have experience and enthusiasm for operational contract management, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and driving change, we look forward to your application.
Please note: This role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
