About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Chefs to work on a temporary agency basis within elderly care homes. This is a rewarding role where your cooking directly improves residents’ health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
You’ll be preparing nutritious, home-style meals that meet dietary, cultural, and medical needs, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals for residents
*
Cater for special diets (pureed, soft, diabetic, low salt, allergies, etc.)
*
Maintain high food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
*
Manage stock, food rotation, and portion control
*
Work independently or as part of a small kitchen team
*
Follow care home policies and safeguarding procedures
What We’re Looking For
*
Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally in a care home, hospital, school, or similar setting
*
Knowledge of special diets and elderly nutrition
*
Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)
*
Reliable, professional, and compassionate
*
Ability to work flexible shifts
*
Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
