Our client is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join a growing ecological consultancy that provides services across a diverse range of projects.
Their work ranges across Scotland to a diverse portfolio of clients ranging fromernment bodies and nationwide constructionpanies, to small-scale projects for private homeowners. Helping to deliver high-quality ecological surveys, assessments, and consultancy.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role include:
1. Conduct ecological surveys and assessments, ensuring timely andpliant project delivery
2. Lead fieldwork activities including habitat assessments, species surveys, and ecological monitoring
3. Provide expert ecological advice to clients and project teams, ensuring adherence to legislation and best practices
4. Prepare clear and accurate reports, management plans, and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
5. Liaise professionally with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
6. Mentor junior staff, offering training and supervision
7. Contribute to business development through proposals, meetings, and networking
8. Integrate emerging ecological trends and technologies into project work
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation perpany standards
10. Demonstrate flexibility during peak survey seasons, including travel and overnight stays
11. Assist in fee proposal preparation and project quality assurance
12. Manage projects to meet deliverables and deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
13. Minimum 5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
14. Strong knowledge of UK ecological legislation and best practice
15. Skilled in data analysis, GIS, and technical report writing
16. Associate or full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM
17. Excellentmunication and organisational skills
18. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel
19. Relevant degree (, zoology, ecology, environmental management) or equivalent experience
20. Willingness to obtain protected species licences
21. Physical fitness for outdoor fieldwork in varied conditions
