As a Technical Operator, you will be an important part of a team supporting production at Cannington. You will operate and optimize complex machines or processing equipment, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of product quality. Utilizing your operational and mechanical skills and knowledge, you will be the go-to person for all team members needing support with complex operational processes, machine optimization, or root cause analysis of underlying problems.
Through undertaking maintenance tasks, validation checks, and optimization of machines, you will ensure the team meets their daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with optimal utilization of assets and raw materials.
This role will follow a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 18:00-06:00.
So, what will I be doing?
As a Technical Operator, you will support production at Cannington by operating and optimizing complex machinery, maintaining high product quality, and supporting team members with operational challenges. You will perform maintenance, validation, and troubleshooting, ensuring KPIs are met and resources are used efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
* Demonstrating commitment to Health & Safety by working safely, role modeling safety behaviors, challenging unsafe practices, and escalating issues.
* Actively participating in and governing the quality management system to ensure food safety and product quality exceed expectations.
* Adhering to good manufacturing practices, hygiene standards, PPE, and dress code, promoting a 'Clean as You Go' approach and visual management standards.
* Operating and optimizing equipment to meet production demands and quality standards.
* Accurately recording downtime and raw material usage.
* Performing advanced fault finding, decision making, and root cause analysis, escalating to engineering when necessary.
* Collaborating with the team for effective handovers, identifying challenges and opportunities for investigations.
* Training, coaching, and mentoring team members to build capability.
* Motivating the team with enthusiasm, taking prompt action, and encouraging a proactive approach.
