Application Support Engineer (Hybrid) - 28,000 - Hull
Principal IT is working with a well-known construction management software company in Hull that provides IT services to businesses. They are seeking an application support engineer to join their team. In this role, you will support their future strategy and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for troubleshooting and IT beyond the screen.
Based in Hull, you'll be the go-to IT expert working alongside the Customer Service teams, providing 1st and 2nd line support via helpdesk email and telephone.
This is a hybrid role, once training is completed, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing non-technical user guidance, progressing to technical support by investigating issues, running database queries, and collating information for the Development team.
2. Onboarding customers, including creating SQL scripts for data import.
3. Assisting with training materials such as FAQs, How-to Guides, videos, and online content.
4. Producing support usage reports for management.
5. Collaborating with the Product and Development teams to provide customer feedback and contribute to the product roadmap.
6. Liaising with third parties to ensure product integration.
Requirements:
1. Experience in software application support or similar fields (desirable).
2. Technical knowledge of SQL, MySQL, and database administration.
3. Proficiency in MS Office, Email, online portals, and conferencing systems.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills for customer support and internal communication.
5. Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with a digital-first approach.
6. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
The Package:
Salary of 28,000, holiday allowance, pension scheme, life and medical insurance.
