Your new role
As a Mechanical Technician within the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of heavy plant and equipment. Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing proactive and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems such as hydraulic systems, piston and multistage pumps, bridges, dock gates, and other critical infrastructure.
2. Troubleshooting and repairing faults to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
3. Ensuringpliance with internal policies and external regulations related to Health, Safety, Environment, Engineering, and Quality standards.
4. Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours reactive maintenance (1 week per month) with additional pay.
5. Supporting the engineering maintenance plan and inspecting assets within your designated area.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
6. A mechanical engineering apprenticeship background, ideally with experience in heavy industry.
7. Hands-on experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC systems.
8. Familiarity with CMMS systems for fault and defect reporting.
9. A strongmitment to health and safety standards.
