Due to continued expansion, Bankside MOT & Repair Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and motivated Workshop Controller to join our team.
Over the past 5 years, our services have significantly expanded. We are now a fully equipped car care centre offering everything from tyres and MOTs to complex diagnostics and engine replacements. Additionally, we have an in-house body repair and paint shop, enabling us to provide a complete car care package and maintain top-quality cars on the road. We are investing heavily in our team to elevate Bankside MOT & Repair Centre to the next level. We offer a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Controller. The ideal candidate will currently be working as a Workshop Controller in a busy workshop. We will also consider applications from technicians demonstrating strong leadership and technical skills who are ready to step into management.
As a Workshop Controller, you will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure high productivity and excellent first-time repair standards, while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workshop. Your responsibilities include managing the Service Department to meet and exceed customer expectations and achieve business goals.
This role is suitable for an organized, quick-thinking individual with motor industry experience, looking to develop their career into management. The ability to meet deadlines, react swiftly to technical challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing and coaching a team of vehicle technicians, ensuring targets and business objectives are met.
2. Ensuring all servicing work is performed correctly, efficiently, and on time, with customer satisfaction as a priority.
3. Collaborating with colleagues to provide seamless service to customers.
4. Scheduling work based on customer needs, job complexity, and parts availability.
5. Providing estimates for servicing and repairs and setting realistic timescales.
6. Assisting technicians with technical challenges to find effective solutions.
Essential skills:
* Relevant automotive industry experience, including workshop control or technician roles.
* High levels of organization and accuracy.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers and colleagues.
* Leadership ability to motivate and lead by example, ensuring team targets and quality standards are achieved.
