Starting from £12.48 rising to £13.42 per hour Hales Group are happy to be working with our client based locally in Diss in search of a Assembly Operative to assist their team. Due to a busy growth period, we are looking for somebody who can adapt quickly, be confident with computerised systems, and have a good eye for detail.
Role Overview:
- To become a certified brazer, through our clients 'in house' training and brazer approval certification program.
- To produce a range of brass and stainless steel gas control products, to exacting quality standards.
- Play an active role in achieving departmental objectives
- Must be physically fit, as the role involves standing for long periods, and some manual handling.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team in the assembly of manifold systems and their associated pipework.
You will be required to assemble and braze brass, copper, and stainless steel components free hand, using jigs and drawings in accordance with our standard operating procedures.
Be competent in the safe use and operation of the Oxygen / Acetylene brazing bay
To build and test products under minimum supervision, in accordance with standard operating procedures
Assembly of a quality product, adopting a 'right first time, on time' approach; whilst maintaining the required level of quality and efficiency throughout the production run.
Take a responsible attitude to health, safety, and the environment in relation to your own role, and that of your
colleagues.
Report any related issues to your supervisor, or EHS representative Key Duties:
Product Assembly & Equipment Use: Accurately assemble products using drawings, routings, BOMs, and various tools and machinery—both manual and automated.
Quality & Standards Compliance: Follow standard operating and safety procedures, complete tasks within defined time frames, and perform in-process inspections to ensure product quality.
Defect & Stock Management: Identify and act on product defects, report Kanban or stock discrepancies, and maintain proper equipment usage and storage.
Workplace Organisation & Safety: Contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organised workspace through mandatory participation in 5S activities.
