ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Estimator, you will prepare precise and competitive cost estimates for design and build projects. You will work alongside the design team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure realistic and thorough estimates. You will have significant experience in the construction industry specifically the design and build Sector.
Some of your key responsibilities include – preparing detailed cost estimates for design and build projects. Reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents. You will work closely with the design team to ensure that the Estimates match up with the project scope and requirements. You will attend site and conduct site surveys to gather information for estimating purposes. You will obtain and analyse quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. You will maintain database and cost information, including materials, labor and equipment rates. You will attend project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters. Update Estimates as her project scopes. You will also assist with the preparation of bid packages and proposals and finally, you will monitor project costs throughout the construction phase.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful Estimator will have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. You will have at least 5 years of experience in construction estimating and at least 2 years in the design and build sector. You will have a strong understanding of the construction methods, materials, and costs. You will be proficient in using Estimating software such as Take-off or similar. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work with a diverse team. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and excel and RICS or CIOB will be an advantage.

For the successful Estimator, my client is offering a salary between £70k – £80k depending on experience. Along with this, you will receive a benefits package and a flexible working structure.
