Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a cook/Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. Breakfast and carvery restaurant in the day, we looking at opening in the evenings Thursday to Saturday, you will working along the head chef with his menu and along with the owner also
Shifts will also cover some day times also.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of food safety.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and develop new recipes that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering an environment of teamwork and professionalism.
* Monitor food presentation and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality.
* Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff shifts to ensure efficient operation during peak times.
Experience
* Proven experience as a cook/Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary skills, and kitchen equipment.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* A culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred but not essential
