* VX – A hybrid event and community platform with live streaming, video calling, whiteboarding, immersive 3D experiences, rich media, and gamification.
* VX App – A branded community app on Android and iOS for attendees to receive notifications, network, and explore events.
* Sync – Scheduling and communications for events (meetings, spaces, transport, travel, breakouts, workshops, speaker slots).
* RSVP – Event registration and ticketing with branding, waitlists, modular registration pages, and e-commerce integrations.

The role
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our development processes, fostering innovation, and contributing to the design, development, and deployment of our web and app solutions. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of mobile, backend and frontend technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Our apps are used by global brands including Disney, BBC Studios, Bombardier, Airbus, 10X Genomics, Collins Aerospace, and more. You will interact with stakeholders from these brands to support and grow usage.
You will be part of a high performing, rapidly evolving team in a growth phase supported by experienced leadership, investment, and a clear vision. You will have opportunities to travel for events and deployments.
You will report to the Head of Engineering.
Tech stack
The gther platform uses Python (Django, Flask), JavaScript (JQuery, Vue.js, Node.js), Flutter, and PHP, with services like Mux, Twilio, Mailjet, Matomo, on AWS (EC2, Fargate, Auth0, Mongo, PostgreSQL). Code is stored in Github, with CircleCI and AWS CDK; containerisation is heavily used.
Responsibilities
* Implement backend services and APIs to support our applications.
* Participate in frontend site architecture and development.
* Adhere to coding standards and conduct code reviews.
* Contribute to testing with unit, integration, end-to-end and load tests.
* Maintain and implement CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps, web apps, and DevOps infrastructure.
* Engage in architectural discussions, propose technical solutions, and stay abreast of industry trends.
* Communicate complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders and maintain documentation.
* Ensure GDPR compliance and adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
Skill set
* Proficiency in Django, Flask, and Flutter; strong experience in these frameworks.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS).
* Experience with Docker and Shell/Bash scripting.
* Good understanding of Git and branching strategies.
* Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Vue.js, React or Bootstrap are a bonus.
* Strong testing knowledge (unit, integration, end-to-end) with frameworks like K6 and Cypress.
* CI/CD and DevOps: understanding of CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI and YAML).
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* 3+ years of professional software development experience building mobile and web applications.
Bonus skills
* Database management: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis; design, optimization, and ORM.
* Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence or similar.
* Frontend JS frameworks: React and Vue.js.
* Experience in the Event industry or related domain.
Timeline alignment
* Within 1 month: meet the team, pair-program, and start tackling tickets.
* Within 3 months: learn tech stack, break down tickets, contribute tests, write internal docs, ship features.
* Within 6 months: reliably ship full features, share best practices, provide input to improve systems, participate in interviewing/hiring.
* Within 12 months: build and support big features, influence technical architecture, plan and implement new features.
